Description of Services: The newcomers clinic is a collaboration between the Cross Cultural Learners Centre (CCLC) and the Health Centre

Two primary areas of focus for the clinic:
  • completing early health assessments for newcomers
  • providing acute care for newcomers until they are connected to a family doctor
Requirements
Fees: Most services covered by OHIP
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Government-assisted refugees: Must be working with a CCLC settlement counselor or worker; Must have been in Canada for less than 6 months; Do not have a current physician in London
Newcomer and other refugee claimants in London: People without a health card are eligible for services, based on intake results
