Networking for people affected by Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia, to a community of learning, services and support
  • one-on-one counseling
  • caregiver support groups
  • referral to community resources by phone, drop in, or home visit
  • First Link Learning Series offered regularly in various locations

Peer support groups and education for family members, service providers, and caregivers
  • support staff connect individuals, health care providers or family members to appropriate services
  • one-on-one support
  • caregiver support groups in Central, East and West Elgin
  • information and referral to community resources by phone, email, drop in or home visit

Eligibility - Population(s) Served: People with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, and their caregivers

Prior to participation, clients are visited by the Alzheimer's Society's First Link Support staff who provides information about groups and other services
